THE FEUDAL JAPANESE CULTURE experience for school groups is a 2 hour session for up to 40 children. From the deadly beauty of the samurai sword to the peace and serenity of the tea ceremony, students will enjoy a variety of talks, presentations and activities based on traditional Japanese feudal culture.
BUDOKAN TASMANIA
Budokan Tasmania ( martial arts hall of Tasmania ) is a traditional Japanese dojo with 75 tatami mats with many artefacts displayed such as samurai armour, not masks, scrolls, kimono, taiko drums and more.
EXCURSION ACTIVITY EXAMPLE
We have created a 2 hour experience for school or special interest groups. We can change the format to accomodate the size and age of the groups. If groups are 20 persons and over, there will be times where they will be separated to ensure all activities are experienced.

Enter the dojo and take your shoes off.

Be welcomed and briefed on what to expect.

Instruction on how to perform Japanese etiquette, sit and stand in traditional situations.

Watch a Japanese Dance.

Learn how to avoid a razor sharp samurai sword.

Learn about the Ninja and the weapons they used.

Watch a Tea Ceremony.

Observe a female being dressed in kimono and a male being dressed in samurai armour.

Watch a "ninja throwing spike" demonstration.

Learn some basic samurai martial arts techniques.

There is no wheelchair access to our facility.

No out door shoes are to be worn in the dojo.

Children/parents and teachers are required to adhere strictly to the rules and requirements as stipulated by the dojo coordinator for the health and safety of everyone present.

Bad behaviour will not be tolerated.
