NAGINATA-JUTSU DOJO
秘薙刀術 道場

Naginatajutsu (長刀術 or 薙刀術) is the Japanese martial art of wielding the naginata (長刀). This is a weapon resembling the medieval European glaive.

Kukishinden-ryū (九鬼神伝流), "Nine Demon Gods School" was founded in the 14th century by Kuki Yakushimaru Ryūshin (Yakushimaru Kurando).

It is a sōgō bujutsu, meaning that it teaches several different weapons/arts such as taijutsu, bōjutsu, naginatajutsu, kenpō, hanbōjutsu, sōjutsu and heiho.

The Kukishinden Ryū Naginata is 225 cm in overall length. It has a double edged blade that is 21 cm long. It is used to slash, parry, strike, stab and deflect; the blade is also used to hook and arrest. Naginata is a weapon of primary importance in Kukishinden Ryū as the Bōjutsu owes its origin to the Naginata. It stands as another signature weapon of Kukishinden Ryū and it is perhaps the base of the ryu’s creation.

The dojo studies Kukishinden Ryu Naginata-jutsu techniques as instructed by the Bujinkan Dojo.

All classes will revolve around a set curriculum and grading syllabus.

There is a joining fee ( $55..00 ) and monthly class payment ( $55.00 ) required. The joining fee includes a basic training uniform but serious students
